Friday 12th February

MATHS

Play times table rock stars for 15 - 20 minutes instead of your number bonds grid and ten in ten today.  I wonder who's going to win the battle of boys v girls?  The score at 6am on Friday morning was Boys:  2611 Girls: 2844.

Just a few of you have done all the work, let's see if we can have some more of you contributing to the battle before it finishes at 12 today!

You have done so well with our work on money in the last couple of weeks.  I have been so proud of you.

Therefore today (and for a few minutes in the holidays if you want to) we are going to practice all the totalling coins and notes and giving change with a really fun game.

Go on to:

https://www.topmarks.co.uk/money/toy-shop-money

Set the game to mixed coins and exact money £1 to £10 and practice finding the correct combination of coins to pay with the right amount of money for each coin.

Then give yourself a real challenge and set it to mixed coins and give change £1 to £10 and practice giving change from £10 for the different toys.

Have lots of fun!

TREAT YOURSELF

It's the end of a busy half term when most of you have worked incredibly hard at home or at school to keep making progress with your learning.  You deserve a treat!  Make sure you do something you enjoy with your families for the rest of the day and over half term.

Try to get lots of fresh air and exercise and maybe enjoy some board games and a movie or two.

This afternoon as a treat for all their hard work in school, the Year 3 and Year 2 children are going to get to enjoy the movie "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" - our class reader - with some popcorn and a lollipop.  You deserve it!
