Remote Learning Information 2021

Hello Year 5,

As expected, we knew that school closing was a possibility, I will miss working with each and every one of you in class! At school, we have had many discussions about the importance of education and how all of you need to take charge of your own learning.

School have taken the opportunity to subscribe to many online learning programmes that will support you during this time period – we have discussed these all in class.
Times Table Rock Stars, Reading Theory and Spelling Shed logins has been provided to each of you, if you’re having trouble logging in to any programmes – please contact me on:

However, please ensure you are typing in your usernames and passwords correctly, leaving no spaces and checking for lower/upper case words.

I will also be uploading daily plans (see below) that will consist of a range of Maths, English and Enquiry activities, useful links will also be attached within these daily plans. Furthermore, I will also be posting the activities on the Class DOJO story alongside a link to a video of myself explaining the day's activities. Any problems logging into Class DOJO, please contact me on: ajumbu@haddon.notts.sch.uk

Fast Learning; children have to write out spellings using the Y5/6 spelling list provided. If you have lost the spelling list, you will find it on: https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/239784/English_Appendix_1_-_Spelling.pdf on page 23 – At least 4x per week.

We really want to support your continued education so just like during term time, as long as you are well, we strongly suggest that you complete all the tasks set so you do not miss out or fall behind. As discussed, I can check how you are getting on with each activity and will be ‘marking’ the work and offering feedback.  We will also be able to see when you are logging in and how long you are working for. The expectation is for you to be doing at least 3 hours of work per school day (Mon-Fri) – You can do this!
